Colten Care – Castle View, Dorchester Quick Diagnosis and Repair

Client: Colten Care

Location: Castle View, Dorchester

Industry: Care Home

Background

Colten Care’s Castle View facility in Dorchester provides residential and nursing care. The site’s heating system includes two Dorchester DR-FC boilers and two Quinta Remelia boilers. Maintaining reliable hot water is essential to the wellbeing of residents and the smooth operation of the care home.

One of the Dorchester DR-FC EVO boilers developed a fault and displayed an error code, reducing the system’s hot water capacity by 50%.

Scope of Work

Asbury Heating was called to site to investigate the issue. One of our experienced engineers attended promptly and conducted a full inspection of the faulty boiler.

A resistance check on the HSI (Hot Surface Ignitor) was carried out, quickly identifying the part as faulty. Our office team immediately arranged for the replacement part to be ordered and delivered to site.

Challenges and Solutions

With only one operational hot water boiler, the care home was at risk of being unable to meet demand, particularly during peak usage. Thanks to the engineer’s fast diagnosis and coordination with our office support team, the faulty part was sourced and fitted quickly, restoring the boiler to full working order.

Results

  • Faulty boiler repaired and restored within 2 hours.
  • The care home’s full hot water capacity reinstated.
  • Minimal disruption to residents and staff.

Safety and Compliance

  • All necessary gas and electrical isolations were carried out before work began, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work was performed in accordance with industry best practice and manufacturer specifications.
