A Swing for Hope: Danny’s MND Foundation Charity Golf Day at Ferndown Forest Golf Club

On Friday, 5th July, Ferndown Forest Golf Club played host to a heartwarming and successful event; the Danny’s MND Foundation and Forest Holme Hospice Charity Golf Day and Auction. Golf enthusiasts and supporters from all walks of life gathered for a day of sport, camaraderie, and, most importantly, charity.

CHARITY GOLF DAY

The event, which was co-sponsored by Asbury, was organised to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the MND community and Forest Holme Hospice, supporting both the individuals battling the disease and the vital organisations that aid them.

Asbury entered a highly talented team who all performed well during their round. DANNY'S MND FOUNDATION

For over a decade, Danny Fudge-Harman has been fighting the courageous battle against Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a relentless and terminal neurodegenerative condition with no known cure. Despite the challenges, Danny’s spirit remains unbroken and his commitment to raising awareness and funds for the MND community is truly inspiring. The charity golf day is a testament to his dedication and the strong support network rallying behind him.

This year, Danny’s MND Foundation joined forces with the local charity, The Forest Holme Hospice Charity. This partnership is particularly poignant, as Forest Holme Hospice Charity plays an essential role in supporting MND patients, providing compassionate end-of-life care, and offering invaluable support to their families. The collaboration between these two charities ensures that the funds raised will make a significant impact, from aiding medical expenses to enhancing the quality of life for those affected by MND.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with participants eager to contribute to such a worthy cause. The day began with an enthusiastic welcome from Danny himself, setting a positive and hopeful tone for the proceedings. Golfers then took to the picturesque course of Ferndown Forest Golf Club, enjoying a day of friendly competition in the unpredictable English Summer weather.

AUCTION SUCCESS

One of the highlights of the day was the charity auction, which featured a range of exciting items and experiences up for bid. Attendees showed their generous spirit, bidding on everything from exclusive golf equipment to luxury vacations. The auction’s success was a clear reflection of the community’s dedication to supporting Danny’s mission and the broader MND community.

ASBURY'S PROUD SPONSORSHIP AND COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Asbury were very proud to sponsor the event, and hope that our efforts played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Our support helped ensure that the day ran smoothly and that the maximum amount of funds could be directed towards the brilliant cause. Charity and community involvement is very important to Asbury so it was an honour to be involved in such a worthy cause. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting those affected by MND, providing them with the necessary resources and hope for the future.

Danny’s MND Foundation Charity Golf Day Auction was more than just a day of golf; it was a powerful reminder of the strength and compassion within our community. As we look forward to future events, we remain hopeful that with continued support and research, a cure for MND will one day be found. Until then, Danny’s unwavering spirit and the generosity of supporters like those at Ferndown Forest Golf Club will continue to light the way.
